Encountering the Perseigne fault
GUIDED WALK ON THE THEME OF GEOLOGY THROUGH THE BEAUTIFUL PERSEIGNE FOREST AND ITS GEOLOGY
Itinerary:
Duration: 3-hour walk through the beautiful Perseigne forest, forest-bath guaranteed (possibility of extending the tour by half a day, for example to the famous "Mancelles Alps").
Rating according to the French Hiking Federation scale:
Price*: €15 for the first adult, €10 for subsequent adults, €5 per child (maximum 15 people) - Included drinks on return (water, syrup, soft drinks)
* Meals and/or accommodation can be arranged on site (campsite) or nearby (hotel, gîte), if needed. Possibility of picking you up and dropping you off at the Surdon railway station with a direct link to Paris 1h30 away (surcharge of €40).
Itinerary:
- Departure from the House of Woods or the Belvedere of Perseigne towards the old Louzes quarry and its ancient seabed straightened vertically
- Crossing the long Perseigne fault (>100 km) and explanation of the magmatic outpouring of a rare rock: the Louzes gabbro
- Walk through the Perseigne forest and discover its geology
- Climb up to the Belvedere of Perseigne (if open, €2 per person), the highest point in the Sarthe departement, to go beyond the canopy and admire the landscape as far as the spires of Le Mans cathedral (45 km away).

- EFFORT: level 1 "Easy" (circuit with no particular difficulty) with 200 m of ascent
- TECHNICITY: level 2 "Fairly easy" (obstacles up to ankle height)
- RISK: level 2 "Fairly Low" (risk of minor injury: dislocation, sprain, etc.).
